Any of the scenarios below can be overlayed for anyone who is neurodivergent. With 20% of our population being in the neurodivergent community there are a variety of considerations.

School students who are struggling with their ADHD symptoms at school in terms of motivation, grade attainment, self-esteem, especially organisational issues and struggles with future planning. Very often career planning can be extremely difficult with any executive functioning issues, not to mention procrastination which can come up so often where interest decreases or was never there for a subject in the first instance.
Process/Administration struggles are very common for all, but particularly if you are neurodivergent. Tertiary applications require a lot of planning and for many, this process can be daunting. I can map out a plan of action to tackle this and break it down into manageable chunks and often students need someone side-by-side to tackle the administration load behind this process. Also working together on understanding the options, pathways and side-entry doors can make a real difference to future opportunities and plans.
Adults with ADHD (with or without a diagnosis) can find issues with work life that are causing them reasons to review their career. Typical issues can be:
- executive function issues (organisation, time planning, focus)
- interest and keeping engaged over time
- lack of variety / lack of engagement
- burn out, over time
- task initiatiion
- interpersonal issues, emotional regulation, rejection sensitivity
- strengths and values misaligned with the industry/job/company
- movement paralysis – not knowing how to make a bold move into a new venture/career/pursuit
- Linkedin crafting, resume/cv work, application prioritising and managing all that comes with that.
